Thank you to Forever Books for gifting me a review copy of The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez.

This books gets ALL the stars from me. I loved the first book in the series The Friend Zone, but this second one just hit it wayyyy out of the park. The characters were so well developed and so completely love-able that I just wanted to roll around in their world and never come back out to reality.

Two years after Sloan (our leading lady) loses her fiancé she’s still really struggling to do much of anything. But as she’s driving along, a dog runs out into the road in front of her…and jumps into her car via the sunroof. She tries to track down the owner, and leaves multiple messages on the number listed on Tucker’s (our furry male costar) collar. Eventually, the owner responds and they start texting. One thing leads to another, and well, you’ll just have to read the book. It’s lovely, and hopeful, and will make you laugh out loud and feel all the feels.

Even though this was a second book, it works perfectly as a stand-alone book too so don’t worry if you haven’t read The Friend Zone yet (although you really should go read it anyway, it’s great).

And did I mention it comes with an actual playlist? Yep, on Spotify. Here it is.

I can safely say that after this book Abby Jimenez is my newest auto-buy author. You know, the author that has you pre-ordering their new book before you even know what it’s about.

I was also lucky enough to receive an audiobook review copy through Libro.fm and I couldn’t have loved Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon’s narration more if I tried. Erin Mallon also narrated The Friend Zone, and Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren (which I also recently listened to and adored). So if you like audiobooks definitely check this one out here! Synopsis:

Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a "take me home" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?
