Steam Rating: 🍆🍆🍆🍆 /5

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas was fantastic. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, but this one was next level.

Our leading lady, Feyre, is now human-turned-fae and has returned to the Spring Court only to be locked away under the guise of keeping her safe. She’s suffering some serious PTSD from her time under the mountain, and her betrothed isn’t helping matters.

Along comes Rhysand (thank God) to make good on his bargain with Feyre that she’ll spend time with him at the Night Court.

I am a sucker for a bad boy with a secret heart of gold, and Rhys is a delicious example. I like him sooo much more than Tamlin (Feyre’s first love).

Power plays, plots, politics and the threat of war surround them, and there is never a dull moment. From the start I was hooked, and all 626 pages flew by!

It gets a steam rating of four eggplants from me. There is only a handful of steamy parts, and they’re towards the end, but what they lack in quantity they sure make up for in quality. Oh my.

I listened to this one as an audiobook and couldn’t have loved it more. It was narrated by Jennifer Ikeda and you can grab a copy by clicking the button below, or get a physical copy here.

Synopsis:

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.
