Undercover Bromance

Score: 4/5 Bookmarks

Steam Rating: 🍆🍆🍆/5

Thank you to Berkley Publishing for gifting me a review copy of Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams. This is the second book in the Bromance Book Club and while I loved the first one, I think I enjoyed this one even more!

This book is set in Nashville, and our main characters are Braden Mack (a nightclub owner who thinks thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in that department) and Liz Papandreas (a stubborn sous chef who believes in justice).

Liz walks in on her boss sexually harassing an employee and after confronting him she gets fired and he blackballs her all over town. But she’s not going to let that stop her from exposing who he really is. The problem is, she’s going to need Braden’s help, and she really can’t stand him…

I really enjoyed both main characters and loved how feisty they both were. Their banter was hilarious and wonderful. Plus the story was fast-paced and had an element of suspense that really kept me on the edge of my seat!

As we learned in the first book, Braden is part of the Bromance Book Club. The Book Club is full of hilarious characters and frankly I can’t wait for a book about each of them! We’re in luck because the third book in the series, Crazy Stupid Bromance, comes out on October 27!

Definitely grab yourself a copy of this book if you haven’t already. The audiobook is really wonderful too, narrated by Andrew Eiden, and is just over nine hours in length. You can get the audiobook here, or click the button below for a physical copy.

Synopsis:

Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.

Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.

Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.

Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart... even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.
